The role of Health and Safety Representative (HSR) requires the ability to identify health and safety issues by liaising with other employees and reporting these issues to upper management.
From 1st February 2019, all elected HSRs must attend an approved training course within three months of election, otherwise they will not be eligible to fulfill the role of HSR. Training includes an initial five day training course and a one day refresher course to be attended at least every three years (as per Section 21 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 [QLD]).
